This contemporary anticlastic cuff features hand-stamped traditional Japanese Asanoha and Seigaiha patterns, inspired by the intricate designs of Kimono textiles. The Asanoha pattern is a beloved motif in Japanese fabrics and sashiko embroidery. Resembling hemp leaves, the pattern symbolizes healthy growth, vitality, resilience, and protection from misfortune. The Seigaiha pattern brings to mind rolling blue ocean waves across the sea. The repeating, concentric forms suggest an endless horizon, and the motif is associated with lasting peace, tranquility, resilience, and a stable life.
Hand-crafted from high-quality sterling silver ingot, this wide cuff has an internal length of 5 ¾”, an opening of 1 1/8” and a width of 1 ¼”. Its weight is roughly 72.9 grams, or 2.57 ounces. Non-patina finish.
