This contemporary anticlastic cuff features a hand-stamped traditional Japanese Asanoha pattern. The Asanoha pattern is a beloved motif in Japanese fabrics and sashiko embroidery. Resembling hemp leaves, the pattern symbolizes healthy growth, vitality, resilience, and protection from misfortune. Because of this association, Asanoha was traditionally used on babies’ and children’s clothing and kimonos as a wish for a child to grow strong and upright. The Shippō pattern appears on the interior of the bracelet. The Shippō pattern is a traditional Japanese motif made of interlocking circles. Inspired by the “seven treasures” of Buddhism – precious materials such as gold, silver, and lapis lazuli – this pattern is considered auspicious. It symbolizes harmony and balance, strong and peaceful relationships, and prosperity that continues without end.

Hand-crafted from high-quality sterling silver ingot, this mid-wide cuff has an internal length of 5 1/2”, an opening of 1 3/16” and a width of 1 1/8”.  Its weight is roughly 77.5 grams, or 2.73 ounces. Non-patina finish.
